DeepOcean delivers offshore wind survey and inspection services that help developers and operators reduce uncertainty, manage risk and make informed decisions.

Over 25 years of offshore survey expertise, applied to offshore wind

Reliable offshore wind decision-making starts with trusted survey data. DeepOcean has delivered offshore survey services for more than 25 years, with experience spanning pipeline and cable inspection, seabed mapping, geophysical and geotechnical investigation, construction support and environmental assessment across major offshore regions worldwide.

That expertise transfers directly into offshore wind. Whether supporting pre-construction route surveys for cable design, installation support during construction, or ongoing cable and structural inspection throughout operations, DeepOcean combines specialist vessels, ROV systems, digital technology, remote solutions and experienced survey teams to deliver critical offshore data with confidence.

Our survey and inspection scope

When a cable fails, a clear, rehearsed process is what turns downtime into a defined, DeepOcean delivers offshore wind survey and inspection services that help developers and operators reduce uncertainty, manage risk and make informed decisions, from pre-construction geophysical and UXO survey through to operational cable inspection and integrity monitoring..manageable event - mobilising fast and returning your asset to service safely.

Why choose DeepOcean for survey and inspection?

Proven technology, deep experience and a survey capability that covers every stage of the offshore wind lifecycle.
DeepOcean supports offshore wind projects from pre-construction feasibility and route surveys through installation support and as-built surveys, into operational cable inspection, structural surveys and scour monitoring - providing one survey partner across the full asset lifecycle.
Full lifecycle coverage
From the FAST ROV and 3D photogrammetric modelling to autonomous inspection drones and remote survey capability, DeepOcean delivers technology-led survey solutions that reduce offshore time, improve data quality and lower HSE exposure.
Innovative survey technology
Long-running framework agreements with major operators covering pipeline and cable inspection, seabed mapping and construction support, reflect decades of consistent, high-quality offshore survey delivery.
Trusted by major operators
Consistent data quality over a long-running programme is harder to achieve than most people realise. DeepOcean have maintained that standard year after year, across different vessels, different conditions and increasing survey volumes. That reliability is what makes a long-term framework relationship work.
Structured service. Rapid response

The FAST ROV: speed, precision and data quality at scale

DeepOcean's FAST ROV is a purpose-built, high-speed inspection system permanently mobilised aboard the Edda Flora, designed for efficient cable and pipeline inspection at scale. Operating at a survey altitude of 1-2m above the cable, it combines multibeam echosounder, side-scan sonar, HD video and digital imaging to deliver high-quality data across large survey areas while significantly reducing offshore vessel time.

For offshore wind, that means faster pre-installation surveys, more efficient operational cable inspections and lower overall programme cost, without compromising on data quality. Fast ROV accelerates offshore survey operations by increasing data acquisition efficiency. Separately, DeepOcean's Remote Operations Centre enables faster processing and engineering assessment of survey data, reducing the time between offshore acquisition and onshore analysis.

Built into the full lifecycle

Seabed intervention as part of your full project lifecycle

The most valuable survey data isn’t just accurate - it’s retained, understood and applied over time. DeepOcean’s full lifecycle capability means the teams collecting your pre-construction seabed data, supporting cable installation and inspecting operational assets are part of the same organisation. Site knowledge, seabed conditions, cable routing and as-built records don’t disappear into a handover file, they remain within DeepOcean.

That continuity reduces the time and cost of repeat surveys, supports more informed maintenance planning and means that when cable inspection identifies an anomaly or a repair scope emerges, engineering and intervention teams can draw on existing site knowledge rather than starting from scratch. For operators managing offshore wind assets over 25-year lifecycles, that continuity reduces operational risk and long-term survey cost in ways that are difficult to replicate with a fragmented supply chain.
